Mosab Hasssan Yousef, the son of Hamas leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef, explained his decision to convert to Christianity in a Washington, D.C. talk last night, concluding “[t]he god of Islam is the god of hate.”


He asked and answered a hypothetical question at his talk to a pro-Israel group.

“What would happen if Israel just disappeared from the map? There is no Israel anymore. Would there be peace in the Middle East? Palestinians would kill each other, I guarantee you.”

The former spy for Israel’s Shin Bet domestic security service has a new book, Son of Hamas, detailing his undercover exploits, radical decision to leave Islam and become a Christian convert, and his undercover work.

Incredibly, the United States is currently seeking to deport Mosab Hassan Yousef for having connections to Hamas. He immigrated to the U.S. in 2007 to convert to Christianity, and his life would certainly be in jeopardy if he was to return to the West Bank that he once called home.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s absurd notion that Yousef poses a security threat is, at best, comical. Deporting a man who opposes Hamas terror back to a certain death — after he surreptitiously fought against it, risked his life to save the lives of innocents, and fled terror to find a new home — is a comment on the Obama administration’s current naivete.

Ramping up pressure on Hamas, Hamas leaders, and the Palestinian Authority, eleven Palestinian human rights organization are demanding that they endorse the U.N. Goldstone Report recommendation to investigate Palestinian violations of international law allegedly committed during Israel’s Operation Cast Lead offensive in Gaza from late December 2008 through January 2009.

According to the report in Ha’aretz, the Palestinian organizations urging the probe include:

• Adallah
• the Arab Association for Human Rights
• the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights
• Al-Haq
• the Adameer prisoner’s rights group, and
• the Women’s Center for Legal Aid and Counselling.

The Goldstone Report criticized, in part, terror attacks by Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups on Israeli civilians, violent attacks and internal repression, like summary executions in the Gaza Strip, as well as arrests and torture in the West Bank

Will President-elect Barack Obama see Hamas for what it really is: radical Islamists who use terrorism as a tool for their religious and political objectives?


It remains to be seen.

But Obama’s choice of Rep. Rahm Emmanuel (Dem. – IL) as his White House Chief of Staff may send a message to Hamas.

In 2007, Emmanuel reportedly said that “Fatah and Hamas are tearing the Palestinian area of the Gaza strip apart in what they call a political rivalry, and the Palestinian people are paying a price for Palestinian violence.”

In July 2007, Hamas seized rival Fatah security officials in the Gaza strip after a bomb attack killed 5 Hamas terrorist and one girl.

Imagine the U.S. Congress — a democratically elected legislature — trying to ‘resolve’ their differences by kidnapping or killing Representatives, Senators, staffers, and constituents, That is exactly how the Hamas terrorist organization operates.

Obama’s administration must look at Hamas for what it truly is: a ruthless terrorist group with a history of deadly attacks — a number of which have killed U.S. citizens.
