Diplomat: Hamas “Only Acting to Serve an Islamist Interest”

An Egyptian diplomat told Egypt’s weekly Al-Ahram newspaper that Hamas’s militant extremism, together with that of Hizbollah and other radical Islamist groups, are preventing peace with Israel:

“Hamas and other Islamist groups are only acting to serve an Islamist and not a national interest. We cannot tolerate this. We certainly cannot tolerate what we have evidence to believe it is a coordinated effort between Hamas and other radical Islamic groups in the region — not necessarily ISIS but certainly Hizbollah, which is a militant group.”

Egypt knows Islamist extremism first-hand, having fought with the country’s Muslim Brotherhood for years.

Hamas Planned Terror Attacks from NATO Ally Turkey

Hamas planned to carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians on public transit systems and a sports stadium in Jerusalem, according to Israel’s Shin Bet security service. More than 30 suspects from the West Bank were arrested in September, according to newly disclosed information.


The terror operations were planned by Hamas’s Turkey-based military figurehead Salah Arouri (inset), a senior member of the terrorist group close to the groups’s leader Khaled Mashal. (more…)

The fundamentalist Islamic terrorist group Hamas is facing a currency shortage, now that it’s former allies in Egypt’s dethroned Muslim Brotherhood were removed from power in a military coup.

NIS (National Israeli Shekel)The Gaza authoritarian regime faces an even bigger financial crisis ahead, now that Egypt is intent on building a security zone to stop smuggling activities by Hamas and its supporters into Gaza.

Hamas spokesman Ehab al-Ghsain in Gaza sees the situation differently.

Hamas in Hot Water with Egypt over Grad Missiles; Palestinians Warned

Egypt’s military issued a stern warning to Palestinians and Syrians living near the country’s port city of Suez against interfering with Egypt’s internal affairs.


The country’s state-run news agency carried the statement the day after violent clashes in Suez between local shop owners and supporters of the overthrown Morsi reportedly injured 112 people.

The warning came less than a week after Hamas was caught attempting to smuggle 19 Grad rockets into Cairo via Sinai, according to a high level Egyptian Army officer.
